Biography of Deception Detection Solutions

Curt Read is the President and CEO of Deception Detection Solutions, LLC (When Truth Matters)

He is retired from the U.S. Army, served as a Deputy Sheriff and was most recently a Federal Special Agent. He has worked with Congress to effect change in laws and oversight, improving accountability. He has written and published procedures for various security programs and investigated crimes with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. As a volunteer, Curt is the Recruiter and Operations Leader with the Pierce County Washington Explorer Search and Rescue (ESAR) Unit.

Curt served in the Army for 30 years, both active and reserve duty as a unit commander (15 years) and served the rest of the time in the areas of: Inspector General (Chief of Investigations), Senior Advisor for Reserve Affairs to the Commanding General, Aviation (pilot), Air Traffic Control (supervisor), communications, law enforcement, intelligence, transportation, and operations of 78,000 troops and various other senior staff level positions.

Deputized at age 18, he was a Deputy Sheriff (Reserve) for more than 23 years with over 15 years as a Field Training Officer, performing the same duties as full time deputies meeting the same certification requirements. As a Federal Special Agent for more than 20 years, he was responsible for facility security and investigations in seven states.

Curt has experience in Research and Development, Internal Controls, Process Improvement and Quality Management. He is nationally certified: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Curt holds a Master of Arts Degree in Management, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Science. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the War College Security Strategies Course.
